Kristen Geissler has over 20 years of experience in healthcare systems, both in direct patient care and administrative and consulting roles. She has in-depth expertise in various quality-based reimbursement methodologies, including CMS IQR (Inpatient Quality Reporting) and VBP (Value-Based Purchasing), and has a detailed understanding of providers' auditing and submission requirements related to the various national quality reporting policies. She has assisted the Maryland Hospital Association and its members during the implementation and design of Maryland's unique quality-based reimbursement policies related to clinical process measures, hospital-acquired conditions, and preventable readmissions. She also has expertise in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and the role of coding and documentation in quality reporting. Prior to her consulting career, she was the director of Quality Improvement for a large urban health system, and she is also a licensed physical therapist.
