In her current role as Director of Health Information Management, Laura Rizzo leads WellSpan Health’s corporate HIM function. Laura has held various leadership positions in the Central Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (CPHIMA) and the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (PHIMA), including serving as President for both organizations. In 2008, she was recognized as CPHIMA’s Distinguished Member. Laura is a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association and is currently serving on the Nominating Committee. Laura currently serves on the academic advisory boards of the Pennsylvania College of Technology HIM Program, the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) Medical Administrative Assistant Program and the York Technical Institute (YTI) Medical Billing and Coding and Health Information Technology (HIT) programs. Laura earned bachelor of science degree in health records administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982 and a master of health administration degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003.
